Reviews in German: «So bewegt man sich auf verschiedenen Planeten: «Levine bringt den Spass am Abgründigen zurück ins Horrorkino. Hyperstilish, postmodern und gleichzeitig retro», preist der Verleih diesen Erstling aus der Highschool-Horror-Schublade an. Nichts einzuwenden, verkaufen gehört zum Job. Wer aber hingeht, ist selber schuld. Keine Spur von Spass an was auch immer. Läppische Schusterei im Schmuddel-Look, so weit das Auge schaut, wenn es nicht grad von Blutspritzern verklebt wird. Und das wird es im Verlauf der abstrusen Handlung immer öfter, bis zu einer durch nichts motivierten überraschenden finalen Wende. Wie der Titel verrät: Alles dreht sich um die hochanständige Mandy Lane (Heard), die blond, blau und mit Schmollmund, den Jungs den Kopf verdreht. Eine prima Identifikationsfigur «Engel mit viel Sex-Appeal»: Wer darf als Erster? Die Party in einer abgelegenen Farm mit Hochprozentigem, Drogen und Anmache kann schwerlich gut ausgehen, so wie die Teenager zuvor in ihrem Eifersuchts- und Besitzanspruchsnetz cool exponiert worden sind. Leider verplappert das Drehbuch bald, woher das Grauen zuschlägt. Die Spannung ist mehr als halb weg - eine Todsünde, wenn kein tieferes Interesse dagegenhält. Dann wird's unappetitlich kadaverig.
