Die Leiche der Ärztin Silke Tannenberg ist im Hof ihrer Praxis gefunden worden. Der Täter hat sie mit einer brennbaren Flüssigkeit übergossen und angezündet. Kurz vor der Tat hatte Tannenberg noch vergeblich versucht, Bitomsky zu erreichen. Er besteht darauf, dass Charlotte Lindholm den Fall übernimmt - und irgendwie wirkt Bitomsky dabei merkwürdig nervös. Vor Ort trifft Charlotte Lindholm auf Oberkommissarin Dambeck, die die Tote als "gute Seele" des kleinen Ortes beschreibt, sie war immer im Einsatz und für jeden da, selbst für Hypochonder. Das Mordmotiv ist völlig unklar und für die Spurensicherung ein aussichtsloses Unterfangen. Immer wieder kreuzt Tim den Weg von Charlotte Lindholm bei ihren Ermittlungen. Der 25- Jährige wirkt verwahrlost, einfältig und irgendwie wie ein staunendes Kind. Zudem stößt Charlotte auf merkwürdige Dossiers, die Tannenberg über ihr Verhältnis zu Männern geführt hat.
