Nach ihrer Scheidung beschliesst die attraktive und selbstbewusste Kommunikationstrainerin Lis Praetorius, das Kapitel Männer ein für alle mal aus ihrem Leben zu streichen. Doch als sie bei einem Mitarbeitercoaching im Stadtarchiv Oldenburg den Kantinenkoch Jan Plathe kennen lernt, gerät ihr Vorsatz unerwartet ins Wanken.
Auch Jan kämpft sich nach einer privaten Enttäuschung durchs Leben. Er hadert mit seiner gescheiterten Ehe, seinem fehlenden Mut zu einem beruflichen Neuanfang und seiner halbgaren Affäre mit Andrea Lenze, der attraktiven Buchhalterin des Stadtarchivs.
Lis und Jan fühlen sich auf Anhieb zueinander hingezogen, doch um aus dieser Sympathie eine Liebe wachsen zu lassen, müssen sie sich ihrer Beziehungsangst stellen, ihre Schwächen akzeptieren und alte Verhaltensmuster ablegen. Vor allem aber müssen sie lernen, dass es sich – auch nach einer Enttäuschung – immer wieder lohnt, für seine Träume und für die Liebe zu kämpfen... (ARD Presse)
