Synopsis in German
Max steigt einer Dame nach, die sein Herz in helle Flammen versetzt hat. Sie eilt in ein Haus und wirft Max einen Brief herunter, den der Verliebte aber nicht auffangen kann. Ein neidischer Windstoss wirbelt das für Max so kostbare Schreiben in die Lüfte und entführt es in ein offenes Fenster. Max sucht nun in der Maske eines Gasinspektors Zutritt, um dem Billet-doux nachzujagen. Endlich findet er den heissersehnten Brief, aber, oh Jammer, der Brief ist im Sanskrit abgefasst. Doch Max überwindet auch diese Schwierigkeit und lässt den Brief übersetzen. Endlich ist er am Ziel seiner Wünsche angelangt. Der Brief lautet: "Mein Herr, ich bin verheiratet; ich liebe meinen Gatten und bitte Sie, mich nicht zu belästigen." Nun muss Max allerdings an andere Eroberungen gehen.
