Rappaports Inszenierkunst, seine Genreverfeinerungen rund um das Musical, erreicht in ČEREMUŠKI, basierend auf Šostakovičs Operette Moskva, Čeremuški ihren Höhepunkt. Worum es konkret geht: Chruščevs großangelegtes Umkrempeln der Moskauer Wohnlandschaft, eine Riesenbaustelle, die sich peu à peu in eine (leicht imaginäre) Tanzfläche verwandelt, auf der die Menschen – junge reine Seelen, ältere bürokratisch verbaute Typen oder sehr durchschnittliche SowjetbürgerInnen – in einem ersungenen Delirium der Freude (aber auch des Zanks) baden.
