Mit verzerrter Stimme macht der anonyme Anrufer Anspielungen auf ein furchtbares Kapitel in Jeannes Vergangenheit: Vor 25 Jahren wurden Jeannes Eltern brutal ermordet.
Die kleine Jeanne fand ihre Eltern damals. Und damit nicht genug: Den Papagei ihrer Tochter Pauline findet sie bald darauf tot auf ihrem Kopfkissen, und der Anrufer schickt ihr am nächsten Tag vieldeutige Grüße mit Anspielungen auf den Vogel. Kommissar Lieberman will Jeanne zwar helfen, kann aber nicht viel tun. So bittet Jeanne ihren Bruder Frank zu Hilfe, der ebenfalls Polizist ist. Doch die Drohungen verstärken sich. Ein Verdächtiger namens Faber stellt sich als unschuldig heraus. Als Faber ermordet wird, spitzt sich die Lage immer mehr zu. Und dann erhält Jeanne den Anruf, dass ihre Tochter in den Händen des Psychopathen ist. In ihrer Wohnung erlebt sie eine große Überraschung ... (SWR Presse)
