Deutschland, während des 1. Weltkrieges: um den hart kämpfenden Soldaten an der Front ein wenig Lebensmut zu spenden, schicken ihnen die Mädchen aus der Heimat regelmäßig Liebesgaben. So erhält auch Wendelin Liebreich, der im Kampf verwundet worden ist, regelmäßig Post von einer unbekannten Dame. Das kleine Paket mit dem hübschen Liebesbrief schenkt ihm Kraft und Zuversicht. Durch die zärtlichen Worte des Briefes verliebt er sich in die Frau und will sie anläßlich eines Besuchs in Berlin besuchen. Als er sie trifft, muß er jedoch feststellen, daß es sich bei der Spenderin nicht, wie erhofft, um eine junge Dame handelt, sondern um ein Schulmädchen. Er ist gerührt von der Nettigkeit des Kindes, wird von ihr zum Kakao eingeladen und lernt ihre Familie kennen, von der er zahlreiche Geschenke bekommt. (www.filmportal.de)
