Um das heimliche Liebesleben ihres Gatten auszukundschaften, verpflichtet Catherine die junge Prostituierte Marlène und gibt ihr den ungewöhnlichen Auftrag, ihren Mann zu verführen. Eigentlich ist die erfolgreiche Ärztin Catherine davon überzeugt, dass sie und ihr Mann Bernard eine gute Ehe führen. Umso erschrockener ist sie, als sie Spuren für einen Seitensprung bei ihrem werten Gatten entdecken muss. Die Prostituierte Marlène scheint genau die Richtige für ein gewagtes Experiment. Unter dem Namen "Nathalie" soll sie eine Affäre mit dem nichtsahnenden Ehemann beginnen und Catherine haarklein von den erotischen Erlebnissen berichten. Etwas seltsam erscheint der abgebrühten Marlène dieser Job schon, doch sie kann das Geld gut gebrauchen.
