Der reiche Erbonkel Theophil kommt: Frau Huber und ihre Tochter Käte sind in Aufregung, weil er so streng ist. In Wirklichkeit aber ist er den leichten Seiten des Lebens nicht abgeneigt und erfindet eine Einladung zu einer Sitzung, um eine Entschuldigung zu haben: In Wirklichkeit will er abends zum Maskenball. Dorthin will heimlich auch Käte, die als Entschuldigung eine Freundin vorschiebt, der sie Gesellschaft leisten soll. Als aber die gefälschte Einladung zur erfundenen Sitzung des Onkels vertauscht wird, erkennt Frau Huber den Plan, und es kommt zu einiger Verwirrung beim Maskenball. Am Ende wird auch noch ein Dr. Theodor aus Anhalt dazu angehalten, bei verschieden Damen um verschiedene Hände anzuhalten... (FW Murnau Stiftung)
