Synopsis in German
Der Jäger Jakob Sonnleitner liebt die Landschaft und die Natur seines Reviers. Eines Abends stellt er einen Wilderer, der beim Fluchtversuch tödlich verunglückt: Es ist der Sohn des im Dorf einflussreichen Bauern Hochegger. Dem Bauern gelingt es, die Abberufung Sonnleitners zu erzwingen, obwohl kein Zweifel daran besteht, dass der alte Jäger unschuldig ist. Sonnleitner wird in ein Revier am Neusiedler See versetzt.
Bis zum Eintreffen des neuen Jägers pflegt seine Tochter Evi das alte Revier. Der neue Jäger Konrad Prandtner merkt erst, dass er ein Protektionskind des Bauern ist, als Hochegger von ihm verlangt, einen privaten Gläubiger im Revier einen Hirsch schießen zu lassen. Doch der Jäger lässt sich nicht auf den Handel ein - er ist sogar fest entschlossen, Hochegger zu entlarven. (3Sat Presse)
