Synopsis in German
Die Magliari sind eine organisierte Bande überwiegend neapolitanischer Gauner, die bundesdeutschen Wirtschaftswundernutznießeren minderwertige Teppiche teuer andrehen. Der arbeitslose Mario lernt in Hannover den magliaro Totonno aus Rom kennen und wird von ihm in die von dem Boss Don Raffaele beherrschte Organisation eingeführt. Totonno übernimmt sich, als er einen Teil der Bande von Hannover nach Hamburg abwirbt, um dort mit dem deutschen Teppichgrossisten Mayer zusammenzuarbeiten. Zwischen Mario und Mayers Ehefrau, einer ehemaligen Prostituierten, entwickelt sich eine leidenschaftliche Liebesgeschichte. (Pressetext)
