Synopsis in German
Bei der Rettung eines Kindes aus einem Brand hat der Zirkusartist Mac Clifford einen Schenkelbruch erlitten und dadurch seinen Job verloren. Jetzt bietet ihm der Zirkusdirektor Mortera eine neue Chance: Clifford soll den Todessprung des berühmten Artisten Cadbin vorführen. Als Clifford und seine Frau erfahren, dass Cadbin bei dem Sprung ums Leben gekommen ist, flehen beide Mortera an, Cliffords Vertrag zu lösen. Aber Mortera hat den Vorschuss für die Vorstellung schon ausgegeben und besteht auf Einhaltung des Vertrags. Inzwischen erfährt Mortera, dass seine Frau ein Verhältnis mit dem Rechtsanwalt Coborn hat. Bei einer Auseinandersetzung erschießt Coborn Mortera. Clifford wird wegen Mordes verhaftet und nimmt, da auch seine Frau verdächtigt wird, die Schuld auf sich. Da gesteht Coborn, der Cliffords Verteidigung übernommen hat, dass er es war, der Mortera in Notwehr erschossen hat. (www.filmportal.de)
