Mit grandioser Virtuosität bewältigt Bassermann alle Anforderungen, welche die Darstellung dieser schwierigen Doppelrolle an ihn stellt. Seine naturalistische Detaillierungskunst, sein ausdrucksvolles Gebärdenspiel erzielten eine wahrhaft erschütternde Wirkung. Es war ein ästhetischer Genuß, sein Minenspiel während der Begegnung mit Mutter und Kind zu beobachten. (...)
