Synopsis in German
Charles „Charlie“ Chaplin ist der neue Offizier Darn Hosiery. Er bewacht den königlichen Palast in Andalusien – und sucht sogar im Bart der Wachen nach Schmuggelware. Die Bande um den Kneipenwirt Pastia plant indes einen großen Coup. Hosiery ist zwar nicht käuflich, wohl aber empfänglich für die sinnlichen Reize von Carmen, die den Offizier nach allen Regeln der Kunst um den Finger wickelt. Kaum dass er es sich versieht, hat er ein Rendezvous mit der schönen Fremden und während er versucht, einen Kuss zu ergattern, verschaffen sich die Gauner Zutritt zum Palast. Am Ende folgt Hosiery seiner Angebeteten ins idyllische Sevilla, denn in Carmen glaubt er die Liebe seines Lebens gefunden zu haben. (Arte)
