Synopsis in German
Die junge Martina, eine hübsche, intelligente Frau, ist glücklich mit dem Gutsbesitzer Diether von Brake verheiratet. Doch allmählich wirft die Spielleidenschaft des Mannes düstere Schatten auf das ehemals sonnige Eheglück. Immer mehr vernachlässigt von Brake seine Frau, seine Kinder und seinen Hof.
Als Martina eines Tages von Malte von Malchof, einem Freund ihres Schwagers, erfährt, dass Diether ihr auch untreu ist, verlässt sie mit ihren zwei Kindern das Gut, fest entschlossen, sich scheiden zu lassen. Doch es gelingt dem einflussreichen Diether, die Kinder in seine Gewalt zu bringen und Martina dadurch zur Rückkehr zu zwingen. (www.filmportal.de)
